New York (April 21, 2026) – The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced the hosts and lifetime achievement honorees for the 47th Annual Sports Emmy® Awards and the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards, taking place May 26-28 in New York City. These competitions recognize excellence in American sports, news, and documentary broadcasting from the last year. Each ceremony will be held at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City.

Steve Bornstein is a leading sports media and entertainment executive with 40 years’ experience in developing, launching, and cultivating brands which leave a permanent mark on a global scale. In 1980, Mr. Bornstein joined ESPN – then in its infancy. He would rise to become ESPN’s youngest President and CEO (1990) leading to significant network development with the launches of ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPN Classic, ESPN Radio, the Internet’s first sports website, ESPN.com., the ESPYs and the X-Games. Next Mr. Bornstein worked at the National Football League, serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NFL Network and as the NFL’s Executive Vice President of Media. Martha Raddatz is ABC News’ chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” She has covered national security, foreign policy and politics for decades — reporting from the State Department, the White House, and conflict zones around the world. She began covering wars during the crisis in Bosnia in the late 1990s, but Iraq and Afghanistan are where she has spent most of her time overseas. Her reporting trips have taken her to Yemen, Iran, Pakistan, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, Libya, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and numerous countries in Africa and in Asia. Raddatz has moderated two general election debates and is the author of soon-to-be-released “The Hero Next Door: Stories of Patriotism and Purpose” and “The Long Road Home—A Story of War and Family,” with the latter making both The New York Times and The Washington Post bestseller lists. Sam Pollard is an accomplished feature film and television editor, and documentary producer/director. Between 1990 and 2010, Mr. Pollard edited several Spike Lee’s films: ”Mo’ Better Blues,” “Jungle Fever,” ”Girl 6,” ”Clockers,” and “Bamboozled.” Mr. Pollard and Mr. Lee co-produced documentary productions for the small and big screen, “Four Little Girls,” a feature-length documentary about the 1963 Birmingham church bombings, which was nominated for an Academy Award and “When The Levees Broke,” a four-part documentary that won numerous awards including a Peabody and three Emmys. In 2010 he co-produced and supervised the edit on the follow up to Levees, “If God Is Willing And Da Creek Don’t Rise.” In 2025 he was an Executive Producer on Netflix’s “Katrina: Come Hell and High Water” and EP on the Oscar-nominated “The Perfect Neighbor.” (Full bio) |

Roy Wood Jr. is a comedian, an Emmy-nominated documentary producer, and WGA nominated writer. He served for 8 years as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy-winning “The Daily Show” (2015-2023). In 2023, Wood Jr. guest hosted “The Daily Show” and headlined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to its highest ratings since 2017. Roy’s fourth stand-up special, “Lonely Flowers,” premiered on Hulu January 17th, 2025. Roy is the host of CNN’s “Have I Got News for You,” an American adaptation of a long-running UK comedy series, which premiered September 2024 and returned for a fourth season in January 2026. Emmy, Tony, and WGA Award nominee Amber Ruffin is an NYC-based comedy writer, playwright, best-selling author, actress, sketch comic, singer, voice artist, and host. She is best known for work as a writer/performer on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (where she became the first African American female to write for an American late-night network talk show) and as host of “The Amber Ruffin Show,” which ran from 2020-2023 on Peacock garnering nominations from Critics Choice, TCA, NAACP Image and GLAAD Media Awards. Michael Ian Black is an actor, writer, and comedian who began his career with the legendary sketch comedy troupe, The State. He is currently a returning team captain on CNN’s comedy news panel show “Have I Got News For You” and hosts the companion podcast “Have I Got News For Your Ears.” For four years, he played Phil Stubbs on NBC’s “Ed,” and has starred on many shows including “Another Period,” “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” and the “Wet Hot American Summer” franchise.
