Netflix’s Adolescence led all series at the 2025 Primetime Emmys. The Studio, The Pitt, Severance, and Hacks all took home multiple trophies.
Update 11: WOW! The Pitt surprised with a Drama Series win. It wins three Emmys tonight, five in total.
Update 10: Noah Wyle wins a ludicrously well deserved Emmy for The Pitt. To me, it was one of the most guaranteed awards of the night, but many felt Adam Scott was strong for Severance. But no, this was Wyle’s to lose, and he took it in the end. Bravo!
Update 9: The Studio takes home Comedy Series. That brings its total tonight to four Emmys, winning thirteen in all for its first season.
Update 8: And the win for Limited Series makes it so. Adolescence wins six Emmys (nine for its entire series run). By comparison, last year’s Baby Reindeer won four Primetime Emmys (six in total).
Update 7: Stephen Graham makes it as much of a clean sweep as Adolescence could have (two of its awards were against fellow nominees). With an all-but-certain win for Limited Series, it will go home with six Emmy Awards — the most of the evening.
Update 6: With Erin Doherty’s win, Adolescence will be the night’s big winner assuming it wins Limited Series, which it will.
Update 5: The world googles “How tall is Stephan Graham?” The answer is 5’5.
Update 4: Don’t say there are no surprises at the Emmys this year. Slow Horses won direction for a Drama Series, and Andor won writing for a Drama Series. That makes three categories that I wager no one predicted correctly. One thing you could have predicted: the host would be awful. You would be right about that.
Update 3: The Studio and Adolescence take home directing awards, as expected. Surprisingly, Ike Barinholtz failed to win Supporting Actor, which was also widely expected. He was beaten by the beloved Jeff Heller from Somebody Somewhere. 99 percent of American collectively said, “Who?” I really wish they would include performance clips so that audiences can see how much he deserved the recognition.
Update 2: Looks like Severance will stick the landing with Britt Lower’s win for Lead Actress. Anything’s possible though. Also, someone please find a new host.
Update 1: The Television Academy made history with Tramell Tillman’s win for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He becomes the first Black man to win the award in Emmy history for his role in Severance. The Pitt‘s Katherine LaNasa surprised (although Megan called it) with a win for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. It was a well deserved win considering her tremendous performance, and it’s likely the actresses from The White Lotus could not overcome vote splitting. Jean Smart and Seth Rogan won widely expected awards in the lead Comedy races.

Loving the upsets. Andor and Slow Horses deserve some love.
I watched the first two episodes of Hacks and couldn't get into it at all. Should I try again?
YESSSSS
THE PITT, THE PITT, THE PITT..
Also glad to see Adolescence be so deservedly rewarded (Though I was rooting for Mr Farrell's Penguin in Lead Actor).
I was shocked he didn’t. Especially when Milioti won.
Will we get the same results at the Globes and SAG or is there still a chance Parker Posey could win something somewhere? It makes sense that the many actresses from The White Lotus would split the vote with large and disparate voting bodies, but there are only 300 Globe voters, maybe the White Lotus fans can coordinate and unite behind one actress from the show 🤞
As much as I would love that, I think Carrie Coon would be the one people rally around if they feel the need. A friend sent me a message last night blaming "the internet" for convincing the Television Academy this wasn't a good season. What do you think?
I always enjoy The White Lotus if only for the vibes, but yeah having watched the excellent season 2 in January, season 3 felt messy in comparison, like it didn’t know where it wanted to go and where it went wasn’t always satisfying.
But Parker Posey was a revelation, she always spiked things up when the show was starting to feel a little flat, so while I didn’t care that much about the other categories, it would have felt right to award TWL in supp. actress given how strong the female cast was.
