Well, that was great…that was really fucking great!

This Sunday, the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League will name the best of Broadway at the 78th Annual Tony Awards. With Maybe Happy Ending, Death Becomes Her, and Buena Vista Social Club all tied with 10 nominees each, there are some real races to be decided over the weekend.

Frank has been killing it in terms of coverage and reviews of this robust season, and he and Joey are joined by Daniel Bayer from Next Best Picture and Awards Watch to talk about who might take home a prize on Sunday night. Will Michael Arden win his second Tony for Directing? Will Cole Escola’s Mary Todd Lincoln ascend to silver medallion greatness with the show of the season, Oh, Mary!? Is Best Lead Actress in a Musical sewn up now that…things have transpired?

In addition to predictions, Joey asks Frank and Daniel about their perspective on this season in comparison to year’s past. It feels like there are so many shows this year, making this year’s Tony Awards all the more exciting.

If you haven’t heard it yet, take a listen to our spin-off series, Desperate Housewives Revisited, where Joey and Clarence look back at the first season of Marc Cherry’s 2004 phenomenon.
