Schrader Raves About ‘Conclave’ On Facebook Post

The irascible, frequently cantankerous, always entertaining Paul Schrader recently posted on Facebook that he has seen and loved Conclave. Screenshot is below, but one thing in particular that he raves about that I totally agree with is the imagery. He refers to Edward Berger’s staging and Stéphane Fontaine’s cinematography as a “masterpiece of imagery.” That is absolutely, 100 percent spot-on. There are dozens of painterly images that were carefully thought-out and constructed through Berger and Fontaine’s collaboration.

A Conclave cinematography nom would be most welcome. A few shots from the trailer follow the Schrader post in case you haven’t seen the film.
