Here’s your first look at the Jay Kelly trailer. Starring George Clooney, Adam Sandler, and Laura Dern (as well as a host of other very talented actors), Jay Kelly features Clooney as an actor undergoing some kind of personal crisis while on a European jaunt. The film stems from the mind of writer-director Noah Baumbach who brought Dern her Oscar for Marriage Story. This one feels perfectly suited for the Academy’s tastes. Clooney seems set for a Best Actor nomination, but it’s really Sandler whose supporting performance already has people buzzing. It remains to be seen how large Dern’s role is, but never count her out. She won that Oscar for 15 minutes of screen time.
Additional details follow the Jay Kelley trailer below. It will drop in select theaters on November 14 and on Netflix December 5. Of course, we’re hoping it makes the trip from Venice to the Telluride Film Festival later this month. Seems likely, I think.
