The Property Masters Guild (PMG) presented the 2nd MacGuffin Awards tonight in a ceremony at Paramount Theater in Hollywood.
For the Feature Film awards categories, Dean Goodine won the Contemporary Feature Film award for “Heretic,” Michael Jortner took home the Period Feature Film award for “A Complete Unknown” and Douglas Harlocker won the Fantasy/Science Fiction Feature Film award for “Dune: Part Two.”
In the MacGuffin Award Television and Short Format categories, Catherine Miller won the One-Hour Contemporary Television Series award for “Severance,” Dean Eilertson won the One-Hour Period Television Series award for “Shōgun,” Jortner and Peter Gelfman earned the One-Hour Fantasy/Science Fiction Television Series award for “Fallout,” Andrew M. Siegel won the Half-Hour Single Camera Television Series award for “The Studio,” Lindsay Tomlinson Forrest took home the Half-Hour Multi-Camera Television Series award for “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” David Gulick and Antonio Fraulo won the Television Miniseries award for “Ripley,” Morgan Treven Bedwell received the Variety, Reality, Game Show or Event Special award for “The Rehearsal,” and Brad Elliott won the Short Format award for Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone: “Fortnight.” A full list of winners can be found below.
PMG President Jeffrey Johnson drew applause from the audience during a speech that highlighted the PMG’s mission to elevate those in their craft, and expressed his gratitude for the guild members and sponsors who have helped the awards show grow exponentially in its second year.
“The MacGuffin Awards recognize the talent, precision and problem-solving that Property Masters contribute to productions,” say co-chairs Theresa Corvino, Brad Elliott and Lauren Shell. “Their work is essential to creating worlds audiences believe in and remember.”
The inaugural President’s Award was presented to Alfonso Ramirez by PMG President Jeffrey Johnson, recognizing exceptional contributions to the property craft by professionals outside the Property Master role. His credits include “Rent: Live,” “68 Whiskey,” “The Offer,” “Horizon: Chapter 2” and “Lanterns.”
During the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Studio Art & Technology, was presented to Dennis J. Parrish by writer and director Johnathan Mostow and Vice President of Studio Art & Technology Lewis Doty. Parrish’s career began at Warner Bros. on “The Silver Chalice” and spanned five decades, with credits including “Hello, Dolly!,” “Papillon,” “Red Dawn,” “Total Recall” “Casino,” “U-571” and “Gangs of New York.”
The Humanitarian Award, sponsored by Hill Valley, was presented to Chuck McSorley by Property Master and PMG Board Member Kurt Bruun, and Founder and CEO of Hill Valley, Eric Nebot. His professional credits include “Edward Scissorhands,” “Ed Wood,” “Batman Forever,” “Freaks and Geeks,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy” and “Captain America: A Brave New World.”
