Sean Baker’s latest feature had a fairy tale morning at this year’s Gotham Award nominations landing four for Feature, Director, Lead Performance for Mikey Madison and Supporting Performance for Yura Borisov. Jane Scheonbrun’s emotional I Saw the TV Glow and RaMell Ross’ beloved adaptation of Colon Whitehead’s The Nickel Boys is hot on Anora‘s heels with three mentions.

Some things that I personally love are Pamela Anderson’s nomination for The Last Showgirl and the screenplay nomination for Femme. Also, Demi Moore, Demi Moore, Demi Moore.

Whilst I don't put a lot of stock in the Gothams, I am happy to see Nicole, Marianne and Yura nominated in the performance categories and both Babygirl and Hard Truths nominated in their respective film categories.

Yay for Green Border and His Three Daughters.
That said, former is out of Oscars because Poland specifically chose to ignore / bury it (What an amazingly dated and stupid rule AMPAS still have) while the latter is most likely out since it's from Netflix whose Emilia Perez is also about 3 powerhouse actresses.
