Wicked, The Substance, and Emilia Pérez led the film awards at the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards. Shogun dominated the TV categories.

There were some surprises tonight at the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards. Sean Baker’s Anora looked to be shut out until the final award of the evening — Best Picture — was announced, which it received against stiff competition from The Brutalist, Conclave, and Wicked. The biggest surprise of the evening had to be John M. Chu’s unexpected win for Best Director for Wicked. We’ll see what happens tomorrow night with the Directors Guild Awards as to whether or not The Brutalist‘s Brady Corbet can sustain his momentum. The Producers Guild also announces tomorrow.

Three films tied for most wins of the evening: Wicked, The Substance (including Best Actress for Demi Moore), and Emilia Pérez (including Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña). The Brutalist‘s only win of the evening came in Best Actor for Adrien Brody.

On the TV front, FX’s Shogun led with four awards, losing Best Actress in a Drama Series to Matlock‘s Kathy Bates. MAX’s Hacks followed with three wins, including Comedy Series and performance wins for Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder.

Here are tonight’s winners:
