Anna Kendrick makes her directorial debut with Netflix’s Woman of the Hour. When the film debuted at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, it quickly became one of my biggest must-sees. Kendrick received strong reviews for her juggling of the complex tone of the piece. On one hand, the film is a lovingly recreated celebrate of 1970s kitsch and The Dating Game. On the other, it’s an incredibly tense thriller about an aspiring actress (Kendrick) who goes on The Dating Game only to be matched with a serial killer.

The newly released teaser trailer highlights the latter.

Check out Woman of the Hour when it drops on Netflix October 18, 2024.
