Ali Abbasi’s hotly anticipated business origin story gets a teaser trailer after screenings at Telluride and an invite-only showing at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Sebastian Stan as a young Trump with Emmy winner Jeremy Strong as his mentor, Roy Cohn. Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova also starts at Ivanna Trump.
Abbasi’s film has been a bit of a lightning rod since the release date is set for next month. Did they want to drop a tease before tonight’s presidential debate between Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris? The Apprentice shows how Cohn takes Trump under his wing, and how he has to make changes to his life in order to be successful.
