Cannes, France — WeAudition, the world’s leading international community for on-demand self-tape readers serving professional working actors, marked its 10th anniversary with a landmark celebration during the 2025 Festival de Cannes. On Friday, May 16th, the WeAudition House hosted an exclusive event, honoring a decade of transformative impact on the entertainment industry.
Founded in 2015 by Darren Darnborough and Richard Cambridge, WeAudition revolutionized the audition process by becoming the first platform to connect actors with live, professional scene partners for self-tape recordings. Operating 24/7 around the globe, the platform has empowered thousands of actors to book roles and generate income—redefining what it means to audition in the digital age.
WeAudition’s anniversary event continued a tradition it began in 2024: recognizing all officially selected Cannes talent—both on-screen and behind the camera. Among those honored this year were notable creatives including:
-
Scott Aharoni – The Chronology of Water
-
Karyna Kymchuk & Alexander Carstoiu – Urchin
-
Filip Schnack & Martin Rother – The Sound of Falling
-
Ya Wen Lin & Teng Hung – Left Handed Girl
-
Elad Offer – Bono: Stories Of Surrender
In 2024, the organization spotlighted Romil Mod, casting director of the Grand Prix-winning All We Imagine is Light, and Lindsey Normington, who gained international acclaim for her breakout performance as Diamond in the Academy Award-winning Anora.
Demonstrating its commitment to diversity and inclusion, WeAudition’s 2023 Cannes Industry Panel featured trailblazer Leyna Bloom, who made history as the first trans actress of color to lead a film at Cannes with her role in Port Authority, directed by Danielle Lessovitz.
As the platform continues to evolve, WeAudition remains a cornerstone for casting professionals and performers alike—reinforcing its legacy as both a tech innovator and a passionate advocate for international talent.
