Happy Tuesday, dear readers! Each week, we’ll rank the top 10 films in a specific category. While we aim to tie these lists to big releases, that won’t always be the case. Our goal? For you to enjoy, share your own lists, and join in on a lively, friendly debate. This is an interactive space to build community here at The Contending.
No fancy intros, no long essays – just a category and a list. Sound good?
Clarence, Joey, Megan, and I just got home from the 52nd Telluride Film Festival. It was a fun, four-day weekend filled with a terrific slate of new films. While a blast, it’s an exhausting experience, so we are going to make things very brief this week.
I thought it would be fun to poll the editors on their favorite films of the festival. While we all saw a few films in common, there were a few that only one or two of us saw. Trust the science.
Our number one on this list was the only film we all scored the highest rating, and was each of our favorite film of the festival.
Here they are: our ten favorite movies we saw at this year’s Telluride Film Festival.
