You don’t make 500 million friends…without being taken to court…
The first trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s “companion piece” to the Oscar-winning The Social Network has just debuted from Sony. The Social Reckoning stars Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, Jeremy Allen White, Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnssen, Bill Burr and Mikey Madison in her first role since her Oscar-winning turn in Anora. Madison will play Frances Haugen who blew the whistle on some of Facebook’s practices and wrote the memoir The Power of One: How I Found the Strength to Tell the Truth and Why I Blew the Whistle on Facebook in 2023. An official synopsis and trailer are below.
“A companion piece to the hit film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay is based on the events that gave rise to the Wall Street Journal’s shocking exposé The Facebook Files. The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.”
