The Jackson Hole International Film Festival (JHIFF) announced today, in collaboration with Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF), the lineup for the second annual event that will take place from December 12 – 15, 2024 in Jackson, Wyoming.
New to the lineup include Spotlight films:
- Daniel Robbins’s BAD SHABBOS, starring Kyra Sedgwick, Milana Vayntrub, and Ashley Zukerman, screening as the festival’s Spotlight Film at 12:00PM on Saturday, December 15 at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
Synopsis: An engaged interfaith couple are about to have their parents meet for the first time over a Shabbat dinner when an accidental manslaughter gets in the way. - Tracie Laymon’s BOB TREVINO LIKES IT, starring Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo, screening at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 14 at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
Synopsis: A people-pleasing young woman is involuntarily estranged from her narcissistic father and unexpectedly befriends a childless man with the same name as her father on the internet. - Rachel Morrison’s THE FIRE INSIDE, starring Ryan Destiny, Brian Tyree Henry, screening at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 14 at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
Synopsis: THE FIRE INSIDE is the inspirational true story of Claressa Shields, arguably the greatest female boxer of all time. Claressa, a high school Junior from Flint, Michigan, aided by her tough-love coach, Jason Crutchfield, pushes past all limitations to become the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. But even at the pinnacle of success, Claressa has to reckon with the fact that not all dreams are created equal, and the real fight has only just begun.

Tim Fehlbaum’s SEPTEMBER 5, starring Peter Sarsgaard, John Magaro, Ben Chaplin and Leonie Benesch, screening at 8:00PM on Friday, December 13 at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
Synopsis: Set during the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics, the film follows an American Sports broadcasting team that quickly adapted from sports reporting to live coverage of the Israeli athletes taken hostage. Through this lens, “September 5” provides a fresh perspective on the live broadcast seen globally by an estimated one billion people at the time. - Bryce Leavitt and Marah Strauch’s SPACE COWBOY, featuring Joe Jennings, screening at 4:00PM on Friday, December 13 at the National Museum of Wildlife Art
Synopsis: Joe Jennings, a pioneer of skydiving cinematography, looks back on a lifetime of creating iconic moments in film and television, while he tries to pull off his most ambitious stunt yet, turning a dreamlike vision into reality.
As previously announced Scott McGehee and David Siegel’s THE FRIEND, starring Naomi Watts and Bill Murray will open the festival on Thursday, December 12th, and Ben Sturgulewski’s CHAMPIONS OF THE GOLDEN VALLEY will screen at the festival’s Centerpiece Film on Saturday, December 15th.
Founded by local Jackson Hole resident Stuart Suna, who is also a founder of HIFF, the festival celebrates the art and science of cinema and shares the power of film in educating, engaging, and inspiring the community. The four-day festival will program narrative and documentary feature films from around the globe, and a peek at some of this year’s Oscar hopefuls. The films are all selected by Hamptons International Film Festival Artistic Director David Nugent.
Along with Chair Stuart Suna, the Jackson Hole International Film Festival Board will also include Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Jimmy Chin, as well as Emmy Award®-nominated cinematographer Danny Moder.
Films will be screened at The National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, WY. JHIFF will kick off Thursday, December 12th, with a daytime and opening night film, followed by three films each on Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th. In addition to screenings, the festival will also include Q&A sessions with filmmakers and networking events.
