The stars continue their trek to the gorgeous town of Santa Barbara and its wonderful film festival, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival — now in its 40th year. Oscar nominees Demi Moore (The Substance) and Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) were recently on hand to support their latest, award-winning work. Moore hosted a free screening of The Substance and conducted a Q&A with festival director Roger Durling to discuss her blockbuster career. The festival also featured two key films within her filmography during the week: Indecent Proposal and Ghost.

Chalamet received the festival’s Arlington Artist of the Year Award present to him by A Complete Unknown director James Mangold. The award presentation followed a conversation moderated by actor Josh Brolin. In looking back across his career, Chalamet remarked that “I hope in a day and age that incentivizes someone else that we will still have great artists.”

On his recent performance as Willy Wonka in Wonka, Chalamet said, “It was a whole new thing to learn you know, or to relearn and have the freeness I felt with my youth…Pop culture has the perception that dark is cool.”

When talking about his Oscar-nominated role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, Chalamet said, “This was a lifetime’s work, and the respect and passion I feel for Bob Dylan and his music was so great that it took me out of myself…Without disrespecting my other performances and stuff that is to come, this was a lifetime’s work.”

Here is the complete Timothée Chalamet Q&A as moderated by Josh Brolin:
