Chloé Zhao’s latest film, the adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet. is heavily rumored to debut at this year’s Telluride Film Featival, and Focus Features just dropped a rapturous tease.
Jessie Buckley plays Agnes, the wife of Paul Mescal’s William Shakespeare, as the couple tries to come to terms with the death of their eldest son, Hamnet. There are a few images referring to the uncertainty of death with black holes of graves and dark doorways filling the frame.
Hamnet will debut in theaters on November 27 before expanding on December 12.
