This week’s Desperate Housewives episode may be titled “Impossible,” but sex is very possibly on the forefront of everyone’s mind.

“Impossible” isn’t perhaps the best title of Desperate Housewives‘ fifteenth episode (we take that on during the podcast). Instead, the theme of this week’s outing is very definitely sex in varied incarnations. Take Bree who discovers a mysterious condom in the wash. Does it belong to the philandering Rex just as he seems to have worked his way back into Bree’s heart? Does it belong to Andrew (who reveals very hidden secrets of his own)? Or does it belong to Danielle who may be willing to give up her virginity to keep boyfriend John the gardener?

Then, as Mike lands in jail for the murder of Martha Huber, Susan uses sex as his alibi, discovering unpleasant truths about Mike in the process. And has neighbor gossip branded Gabrielle as the neighborhood deflowerer of virgin teen boys? Finally, sex may not be on Lynette’s mind, but did the act certainly gave her enough children to warrant sabotaging Tom’s promotion? Has Lynette gone too far? That’s certainly not impossible.

If you’ve never seen Desperate Housewives, then now is a great time to start. The series is available to stream on Hulu / Disney+. Catch up with our podcasts here! Next week, we look at episode sixteen, “The Ladies Who Lunch,” that features the arrest of neighborhood sex worker Maisy Gibbons.
