Palm Springs, CA (September 2, 2026)—The 38th-annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will take place January 7–18, 2027. Known for its culturally rich programming, PSIFF showcases a broad lineup of international submissions for the Academy Awards’ Best International Feature Film category as well as an array of American independent features and documentaries.
The Palm Springs International Film Awards, presented by Kering, will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2027, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Nearly all honorees at the 2026 Film Awards went on to receive Academy Award nominations including Jessie Buckley (Vanguard Award), Rose Byrne (Breakthrough Performance Award), Timothée Chalamet (Spotlight Award), Leonardo DiCaprio (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor), Jacob Elordi (Visionary Award), Elle Fanning (International Star Award), Ethan Hawke (Career Achievement Award), Kate Hudson (Icon Award), Michael B. Jordan (Icon Award), IInga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (International Star Award), Renate Reinsve (International Star Award), Stellan Skarsgård (International Star Award), and Chloé Zhao (Vanguard Award). In addition, the festival screened all five Best International Feature Film nominees.
The Opening Night screening will be held on Friday, January 8, 2027. Closing Night will take place on Sunday, January 17, followed by ‘Best of the Fest’ screenings on Monday, January 18. Additional marquee programs at the Festival include Talking Pictures, Books to Screen, and the Best International Feature Film panels. Bringing top filmmakers and cultural changemakers to Palm Springs, these conversations offer rare access and rich perspective on the standout stories of the year. The Festival remains dedicated to local programming, too, bringing back its beloved Family Day and building out its Student Screening Day experience for young creatives across Coachella Valley high schools.
