(New York) May 27, 2026 – The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the winners of News categories of the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards tonight. The ceremony was hosted by Amber Ruffin, writer, comedian and actress (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Have I Got News For You) and presented live at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City. The show streamed live on YouTube, simulcast on C-SPAN, and is available to watch at YouTube.com/@TheEmmys.
“ABC World News Tonight with David Muir” won for Outstanding Live News Program and CNN Worldwide’s “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” received Outstanding Recorded News Program. Scott Pelley accepted “60 Minutes” and CBS News’s trophy for Outstanding Hard News Report: Short Form for “The War in Gaza.” ABC News’s “Eric Dane Speaks” received recognition for Outstanding Interview: Long Form while “CNN’s Jeremy Diamond Presses Hamas Official On Suffering In Gaza” won Outstanding Interview: Short Form.
The ceremony featured presenters from across the news community, including: Lisa Abramowicz (Bloomberg), Jason Bellini (Scripps News), Jim Cantore (Weather Channel), Linsey Davis (ABC News), Jeremy Diamond (CNN), Johnny Harris (YouTube), Vanessa Hauc (Noticias Telemundo), Hallie Jackson (NBC News), Areva Martin (CNN, PBS), Camilo Montoya-Galvez (CBS News), Bill Owens (60 Minutes), Scott Pelley (CBS News), Jen Psaki (MS NOW), Jorge Ramos (YouTube), Maria Rozman (Spectrum Noticias) and Natasha Zouves (News Nation Now). ABC’s Debra OConnell presented this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award to ABC’s Award-winning Chief Global Affairs Correspondent (World News Tonight, Nightline), Martha Raddatz, for her significant contributions to news media.
“When the revolutionary generation put pen to parchment 250 years ago, they chose to align themselves to a vision of public freedom reinforced a decade later by the First Amendment. Generations of writers, publishers and broadcasters have rightly joined together to push back ever since,” said President & CEO, Adam Sharp. “Journalists are torchbearers for the public right to know and to speak.”
The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a student pursuing a career in television journalism, was presented to Santiago Campos, a student at District of Columbia International School in Washington, DC. The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship honors news correspondent Mike Wallace (1918-2012) and is funded by a grant from CBS News.
The 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards honor programming originally released in calendar year 2025, selected from more than 2,100 submissions and judged by a panel of 1600 peer professionals from across the news and documentary industry. The ceremony was streamed live on YouTube, with YouTube serving as the Presenting Sponsor. Viewers can watch on the NATAS YouTube channel at youtube.com/@theemmys.
