VIDEO: The Pitt’s Isa Briones Doesn’t Understand Why People Take Sides in Team Langdon Vs. Team Santos

"These are people who are all very flawed."

The Pitt actress Isa Briones discusses her musical scenes and Santos’s addiction she’s grappling with in Season 2.

Okay, let’s get down to it. In The Pitt Season 2, why is Santos so behind on charting? Actress Isa Briones clarifies why this is an important storyline.

“Our two year is notoriously a very hard year,” says Briones. “For many reasons, you’ve got crazy debts you’re dealing with. You have no time, no sleep, and you are overseeing everyone below you. You are also a catch-all for anything that the more senior residents can’t take. And so you would just end up really overwhelmed.”

And how does Dr. Santos blow off steam? By hooking up with Dr. Garcia (Alexandra Metz), of course.

Fans on X freaked out during Episode 1 when the surgeon mentioned that Whitaker (Gerran Howell), Santos’s roommate, had used her toothbrush. Is this something new for the colleagues?

“It didn’t take them too long to get there because in Season 1, they were pretty explicitly flirting. Everyone likes what they like and you can’t judge it.”

But one person Santos clearly still judges is Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball), whom she turned in to Robby (Noah Wyle) in Season 1 when he was stealing medication. The showdown between them has fans struggling to figure out which side they’re on.

“I think it’s so funny when people try to make this show black and white when the whole point is that it’s not. The whole point is that these are people who are all very flawed, who also deserve second chances, and are worthy of love and need help. They also make some bad choices. And I think what you see with Santos and Langdon is Langdon is someone who made a mistake, has an addiction. Like that is a very common thing in this country. And it’s really fucking hard to deal with. He tried to do his best within that. Of course. it was not good. And in that same breath, like she blew the whistle about something that really did happen. And I don’t think she’s like, I hate addicts. That’s not the point. He really shook her confidence on day one and also kind of tried to gaslight her into thinking she was crazy.”

I had a great conversation with Briones about her work in Season 2, including what roomies Whitaker and Santos might binge-watch together. Watch or listen below!
