42nd Annual Miami Film Festival to Honor Jason Isaacs with Precious Gem Award

Award to be Presented Immediately Following a Live Recording of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Podcast

Miami, FL (March 24, 2025) – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Film Festival (MFF) announced that Jason Isaacs will receive the Precious Gem Award. He’ll receive the award immediately following a live recording of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast moderated by Scott Feinberg, Executive Editor of Awards, in front of a festival audience. The event will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at MDC’s Chapman Center in downtown Miami. The Miami Film Festival will take place from April 3-13, 2025.

The Precious GEM Award is reserved for honoring the truly special stars of the art form, those one-of-a-kind artists whose contributions to cinema are lasting and unforgettable. Past Precious GEM Award Recipients include Pedro Almodóvar, Ramin Bahrani, Penélope Cruz, Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, Isabelle Huppert, Rita Moreno, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Sebastian Stan.

“We are thrilled to honor Jason Isaacs with our prestigious Precious Gem Award to celebrate his impressive acting achievements including his incredible performance in this season of The White Lotus,” said Lauren Cohen, Miami Film Festival Programming Director. “We’re also excited to partner with The Hollywood Reporter again this year to bring Scott Feinberg and this phenomenal conversation to Miami.”

Jason Isaacs is a multi-award-winning British actor. He can currently be seen starring in Season 3 of HBO’s critically acclaimed series The White Lotus and is upcoming in the following films The Salt Path, War of Words, Honey Bunch and Juliet and Romeo. Isaacs has been nominated for many awards including a Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG, International Emmy, Critics Choice and London Critics Circle, and has won the Empire Award, Independent Spirit Award and Satellite Award. He is most known for his iconic roles in the Harry Potter films, The Death of Stalin, Black Hawk Down and The Patriot. On the small screen, Isaacs can be seen in The Crowded Room, Sex Education, The OA, The Great and has made guest appearances on The West Wing and Entourage.

Isaacs joins previously announced award recipients Julie Delpy (Impact Award), Mark Duplass (Impact Award), Paul Feig (Precious GEM), Melanie Lynskey (Precious GEM), Roger Ross Williams (Impact Award) and Billy Zane (Art of Light Award). This year’s festival will screen over 198 narratives, documentaries, and short films of all genres, from over 45 countries worldwide including 35 World Premieres, two International Premieres, nine North American Premieres, three U.S. Premieres, 21 East Coast Premieres, and 72 Florida Premieres.
