One Battle After Another leads the 2026 BAFTA nominations with 14 bids. Sinners follows closely with 13 nominations.
Sinners may have ruled the day at the 2026 Academy Award nominations, but Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another took pole position at the 2026 BAFTA nominations. Anderson’s acclaimed film received 14 nominations including Best Film, Best Director, and nominations in all four acting categories including Chase Infiniti for Lead Actress. She was omitted from Oscar’s Best Actress final five.
That said, it’s not as if Sinners faired poorly. Ryan Coogler’s sensation received 13 nominations including Best Film, Best Director, and acting nominations for Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku. Hamnet and Marty Supreme both fared better at the 2026 BAFTA nominations than they did at the 2026 Oscars with 11 nominations each. Most notable, Paul Mescal received a mention for Supporting Actor after a shocking omission at the Oscars. Emily Watson also received mention in Supporting Actress.
Here are the 2026 BAFTA nominations. The BAFTA ceremony takes place on February 22.

Finally a voting body recognizes the brilliance of Emily Watson in HAMNET!
And one that does not forget Paul Mescal was excellent as well.
It's hard to see Sinners winning here; Hamnet could slow OBAA a bit.
