NATAS Announces 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards Winners

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the winners of the 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards which took place at Television City in Los Angeles and streamed live on The Emmys® apps (apps.theemmys.tv).

Meryl Streep won the Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Personality, while Christian Slater was recognized as Outstanding Lead Performer in a Preschool, Children’s, or Young Teen Program. Jacob Tremblay earned his first Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Voice Performer in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program category.

Other notable winners include Phoenix Laroche, who won Outstanding Younger Performer in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program, becoming one of the youngest Emmy winners. Meanwhile, Sesame Street’s Leslie Carrara-Rudolph received her first Emmy for Outstanding Puppetry Performer after seven nominations.

“The producers and craftspeople recognized during the two ceremonies today are serving television’s youngest viewers and their families in creative and important ways. It is an honor to celebrate their exceptional work and achievements,” said Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS. “We are proud to use the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards platform to celebrate them today and everyday.”

Eric Bauza (Voice of “Bugs Bunny” and “Daffy Duck”) served as host. Fran Brill, Emmy® Award-Winning Performer and puppeteer (“Sesame Street,” “The Muppet™ Show”) was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Dave Goelz (“The Muppets”).

Presenters at the Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards and the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy® Awards represent a wide variety of children’s entertainment and included Bobby Moynihan (Former Saturday Night Live cast member, voice of “Bobby Boots” in Pupstruction), Mykal-Michelle Harris (“Alice Baxter” in Raven’s Home), Jacob Tremblay and Paul Walter Hauser (voices of “Orion” and “Dark” in Orion and the Dark), Duff Goldman (host, Kids Baking Championship), Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri (“Percy Jackson,” “Annabeth Chase” and “Grover Underwood” in Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Lucia Cunningham (“Jessica Williams” in Jessica’s Big Little World), Donna Kimball and John Tartaglia (Emmy-nominated performers, “Mokey Fraggle” and “Sprocket the Dog” in Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock), Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo (“Pheobe Thunderman” and “Max” in The Thundermans Return), Noah Cottrell (“Simon” in The Spiderwick Chronicles), Ella Bright and Amanda Lawrence (“Darrell Rivers” and “Matron Shipley” in Malory Towers), Arianna McDonald (voice of “Marcie” in Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie), Terrence Little Gardenhigh (voice of “John Patrick ‘Pat’ Patterson” in Fright Krewe), Kiersten Kelly (voice of “Brooklyn” in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory), Izaac Wang (“Sam Wing” in Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai), Amanda Martinez (voice of “Abuela” in Rosie Rules), and Cree Summer (voice of “Lizard” & “DeeDee” in Spirit Rangers).

The presentation was produced by NATAS with Lisa Armstrong and Adam Sharp, Executive Producers; Leon Knoles, Director; Meggie McFadden, Writer; and Rachel Schwartz, Children’s & Family Awards Administration.

The Children’s & Family Emmy® ceremony was streamed live on NATAS’ dedicated viewing platform, available on the web at watch.theemmys.tv and via The Emmys apps for iOS, tvOS, Android, FireTV, and Roku (full list at apps.theemmys.tv).

The complete list of winners is also available at theemmys.tv. The Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy® Awards winners will be announced today and updated on the website.
