The Contending welcomes Christine Estabrook, Desperate Housewives’ very own Martha Huber, as we look at her final episode, “Guilty.”

Desperate Housewives Episode Eight, “Guilty,” is another thematically heavy episode. It also marks the final live appearance of one of Season One’s most beloved characters, Martha Huber.

In “Guilty,” Bree and Rex deal with the fallout of Andrew’s hit-and-run accident, but Bree’s far more concerned about Andrew’s total lack of remorse for putting Mama Solis in a coma. Gabby and Carlos struggle in their own ways with the accident, and Gabby wrestles with her guilt and justification for her now-ended affair with John. Lynette struggles with the influence of the ADD medication and the guilt over her perception that she’s a bad mother. She experiences a crisis that only her friends can help her through. Meanwhile, Susan makes a discovery about Mike, the ramifications of which could end their relationship.

But the real star of the episode is Christine Estabrook’s Martha Huber who has a fatal showdown with Paul Young. We’re not feeling guilty in welcoming Christine Estabrook to Desperate Housewives Revisited to discuss her memories and iconic performance on the series. Does she think Martha Huber was “gone too soon?” Find out the answer to this and more as Joey and Clarence chat with the Desperate Housewives guest star.

If you’ve never seen Desperate Housewives, then now is a great time to start. The series is available to stream on Hulu / Disney+. Catch up with our podcasts here!
