“Your Fault:” Yes, But What About Dana In the Third Place?

Paul Young spins several stories about “Dana,” Mary Alice, and Zach as he tries to throw Susan off his trail in “Your Fault.”

“Your Fault,” Desperate Housewives‘ thirteenth episode, kicks things off with a great Stephen Sondheim song title reference (cribbed from Into the Woods). There’s a lot of “fault” going around Wisteria Lane, but the title reference probably most closely aligns with Paul and Zach Young. Who exactly is to blame for what happened to the mysterious Dana? With Zach growing a relationship with Julie, Susan becomes (naturally) concerned and learns some details about the Dana mythology that Paul creepily tries to cover up.

Speaking of creepy, George embarks on an impromptu date with Bree, but it’s anything but a love affair as she fondly recalls her early days with Rex. When Rex visits the pharmacy, he makes a huge mistake by insulting George. Will this have catastrophic consequences for Rex? Well, this is Desperate Housewives after all…

Lynette deals with a philandering father-in-law (special guest star Ryan O’Neal) and wonders if the apple falls far from the tree. John the Gardener’s parents approach Gabby, begging her to convince him to enroll in college after he decides to ignore his scholarship. But John definitely has other plans…

“Your Fault” takes huge leaps forward in the Mary Alice storyline, bringing to the forefront the mysterious Dana and what exactly happened to her. Plus, it sets up the ultimate demise of a Desperate husband.

If you’ve never seen Desperate Housewives, then now is a great time to start. The series is available to stream on Hulu / Disney+. Catch up with our podcasts here! Next week, we look at episode fourteen, “Love Is In the Air,” where Susan ends up covered in blood and Felicia Tillman makes a huge discovery about Mary Alice.
