The film, also starring Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, follows a couple whose marriage is on thin ice as they host their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party that spirals into unexpected places. Written by NFF honorees Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. NFF’s centerpiece selection is ESPN’s upcoming 30 for 30 documentary GIVE ME THE BALL! directed by Liz Garbus and Elizabeth Wolff, detailing tennis icon Billie Jean King’s story and her transformative impact on sports and society. Closing the Festival will be a special presentation of the\, THE FIVE STAR WEEKEND, based on the novel by Elin Hilderbrand and centered on Hollis Shaw, a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. This year’s Screenwriters Tribute will honor DGA Award-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, writer, producer, and author Paul Feig with the Visionary Storyteller Tribute, recognizing his illustrious career and unmatched storytelling across film and television. Feig’s work has helped shape modern comedy, from creating the cult classic television series FREAKS AND GEEKS to box-office hits including BRIDESMAIDS, GHOSTBUSTERS, and SPY. His latest film THE HOUSEMAID, starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, became the top-grossing film of his career and he is currently in pre-production on the sequel, THE HOUSEMAID’S SECRET. Past recipients of the award include Noah Baumbach, Tony Gilroy, Nicole Holofcener, Barry Jenkins, Nancy Meyers, and Judd Apatow.
