There actually are no caftans on Wisteria Lane, but this week’s Desperate Housewives episode looks at what happens when Maisy Gibbons blows it all up.

The sweet peace (ha!) of Wisteria Lane becomes disrupted with the screams and protestations of Maisy Gibbons (Sharon Lawrence) as Desperate Housewives episode sixteen, “The Ladies Who Lunch,” opens. Maisy’s arrest for her neighborhood sex work launches a feast of gossip. It also strikes fear in Bree’s heart as Rex appears likely to be outed for his… indiscretions. How far will Bree go to ensure her name stays out of the mud? Or will Maisy’s bitterness prove insurmountable? And what will the ladies at the club think?

In other plot lines, Lynette deals with a Barcliff outbreak of head lice and its impact on her boys’ social lives. Also, Carlos and Gabby find themselves knee-deep in debt and sewage (literally). Finally, Super Sad Susan mourns the loss of her love affair with Mike and finds solace in an unexpected place.

If you’ve never seen Desperate Housewives, then now is a great time to start. The series is available to stream on Hulu / Disney+. Catch up with our podcasts here! Next week, we look at episode seventeen, “There Won’t Be Trumpets,” which brings an Oscar-winning guest star to Wisteria Lane.
